With its explosion of seasonal fruits and vegetables and its motivating wardrobe, summer is a great time to adopt new, healthy habits that will last the rest of the year. To help you make this summer the best one yet, Family Healthcare of Siouxland is kicking off the FHCSL Summer Wellness Challenge, which will offer weekly goals, encouragement, tips, and lots of community support.

Having a healthy summer doesn’t necessarily mean being able to slip into a (gulp) bikini or train for a marathon. We believe it’s about making wholesome, life-affirming choices that will allow you to really embrace what the coming days can offer. This means biting into fresh tomatoes, going on sunset hikes, getting a good night’s rest on fresh sheets, and being mindful of blessings. You’ll soon find how easily small life changes can be once you get the beach (or golf or bocce) ball rolling.

This June, we will give you four weekly challenges, each with its own call to action and blog post to give you further information, tips, and encouragement. Join in the discussion on our Facebook page, whether it is to answer the prompts or encourage others to join you on the road to being healthy. We welcome you to share the Summer Wellness Challenge with as many Facebook friends as possible because the gift of health and happiness is a gift worth spreading around.
