Family Health Care of Siouxland’s Imaging Center is happy to announce the newest addition to its imaging services equipment: the Siemens Magnetom Espree MRI system. While MRI technically means “Magnetic Resonance Imaging”, those letters will now mean something completely different to our patients: More. Room. Inside.
The new Espree MRI replaces an Open MRI system, which, despite its name, was a fairly tight space often difficult to manage for patients, particularly children, the elderly, and those suffering from claustrophobia. The new Espree MRI, by stark contrast, allows for almost one foot of free space between the patient’s head and the machine, and its ultra-short length enables patients to keep their head or feet out for most exams.
And there’s more.
Thanks to the new technology, patients can expect their MRI exams to proceed more quickly and provide even more information. MRIs are currently considered to be one of the best noninvasive exams to produce remarkably clear pictures of inside the body, particularly of the head and spine. MRIs are especially helpful in allowing doctors to specifically distinguish between healthy and unhealthy tissue; they serve as an important tool when treating tumors, infections, internal injuries, as well as conditions involving the heart, the nervous system, and cancer.
“We are pleased to offer this state-of-the-art MRI technology for the benefit of our patients,” said Shelly Bennett, Service Line Manager at Family Health Care of Siouxland’s Imaging Center in a press release. “The MRI area was remodeled to provide a more comfortable experience all around. From the moment patients walk in the door, we work hard to make sure they have the best possible experience.”
Family Health Care of Siouxland is proud to provide the most comprehensive diagnostic imaging services in the region, including CT scans, ultrasounds, osteoporosis scans, and many other diagnostic and advanced screening exams. The addition of the Espree MRI confirms Family Health Care’s commitment to providing efficient, comfortable, and cost-effective exams for its patients.
